I’ve always been drawn to the beauty of the outdoors, whether exploring the rolling hills of Shropshire, trekking the rugged paths of Snowdon, or wandering through the vast wilderness of America’s national parks. But it was climbing Mount Kilimanjaro that changed everything.

I knew I wanted to help others experience the magic of Kilimanjaro and Tanzania, but not just in any way—I wanted to make it even better, to improve on my own experience, and to ensure every traveller had the best possible adventure.

Born and raised in Musoma, my journey on Kilimanjaro began when I moved to Arusha – starting as a porter, training as a chef, then earning my place as lead guide. Over the years, Kilimanjaro became more than just a workplace—it became a second home, a place of knowledge, experience, and deep connection.
With over two decades of experience on the mountain, I’ve gained extensive knowledge and expertise in its terrain, diverse flora and fauna, and the challenges posed by exhaustion and altitude sickness. My knowledge, experience and Wilderness First Responder qualification, ensures every trekker is prepared, supported and guided safely through every step of their climb. I am recognised for my deep knowledge, calm leadership, and unwavering commitment to safety.
One of my most memorable treks introduced me to someone who, like me, developed a deep connection to Kilimanjaro. What started as a trek soon became a lasting friendship, built on shared experiences, trust, and a mutual love for the outdoors and Kilimanjaro. That friendship grew beyond the mountain, leading to the creation of Kilimanjaro Mavens Treks & Safaris Ltd, a company founded on expertise, passion, adventure, and a deep commitment to providing the best possible experience.
