Upon arrival in Tanzania, you will be met at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to Arusha, the gateway to Tanzania’s northern safari circuit. Enjoy a scenic drive through the surrounding countryside as you make your way to your hotel or lodge, where you can relax after your international journey.
Later in the day, you will meet your safari guide for a detailed safari briefing. This is an opportunity to review your itinerary, discuss wildlife expectations, and receive important travel and safety information. Spend the evening at leisure, enjoying dinner and an overnight stay in Arusha as you prepare for your safari adventure.
Distance: ±120 km | Driving Time: 2–3 hours
Depart Arusha after breakfast and drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant population and iconic baobab trees. Enjoy a full game drive along the Tarangire River, where lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, and a wide variety of birdlife are commonly seen.
In the late afternoon, exit the park and drive to your lodge in Karatu or near Tarangire for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park, nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Enjoy a game drive through the lush groundwater forest and open floodplains. Expect to see elephants, hippos, giraffes, buffalo, baboons, and abundant birdlife, including flamingos (seasonal). Lake Manyara is also famous for its tree-climbing lions, though sightings depend on luck.
In the afternoon, continue to your lodge in Karatu for relaxation and overnight.

Depart early and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater before ascending and returning to Arusha or transferring to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO).
