After breakfast, depart Arusha and begin your safari adventure with a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park. Although often overshadowed by Serengeti and Ngorongoro, Tarangire is one of Tanzania’s most rewarding wildlife destinations and offers exceptional game viewing throughout the year.
The park is famous for its enormous baobab trees which dominate the landscape and create a unique African wilderness atmosphere. Tarangire is also renowned for hosting one of the largest elephant populations in East Africa, with herds sometimes numbering in the hundreds. During the dry season, thousands of animals migrate to the Tarangire River, the park’s primary water source, resulting in incredible wildlife concentrations.
As you explore the park, you may encounter elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, impalas, warthogs, ostriches, and an impressive variety of birdlife.
